get ready for a comeback

This has been a great week to be a sports fan. Baseball is in the thick of the World Series, football is in the middle of weeding out the weak from the strong, and basketball and hockey are showcasing the teams that were re-built over the offseason. With the four major American sports going in full force there are always great matchups, plays, and stories to keep us entertained. The best part about sports at this time of year is that there is certainly no shortage of comebacks stories. Whether it is a team that is making its way back from a poor season from the previous year, last minute heroic efforts to win, or a player revitalizing their career, the comeback stories are plentiful. Even those that are not sports fans can appreciate and enjoy a good comeback because they are much more than just a component of sport and competition. They are the courage, grit, passion, will, drive, determination, refusal to give up, and so much more for those that have their backs against the wall.

Between the ongoing wars on the perils of terror, the economic turmoil, and the many other events that seem to keep pushing us down, it seems that there has been little to lift our spirits or build upon for hope. It has been a long haul in which many have lost their livelihoods as much as they have lost jobs, money and savings. Undoubtedly, we have been experiencing one of the worst economic down-turns in history and it has put all of our backs against the wall with little to fight back with. So, in many ways, we are all digging deep to pull off one of the biggest comebacks of all time. However there are many out there that are fighting the biggest personal battles of their life. They are the ones that are truly fighting just to find the courage and strength to keep moving forward.

I am someone that finds inspiration in others and their courage to refuse to give up. So for this week’s blog I invite you to share what motivates, inspires, or allows you to find the courage to move forward and to never give up. Perhaps others can find hope and inspiration through what you share. Who knows, it just might even be just what they need to pull off their own comeback.
